Ahead of the National Defense Day, the Ministry of Defense Call 2,500 People Participate in the State Defense Competition

Kolom Nasional. Ahead of commemorating the National Defense Day which falls on December 19, 2018, the Indonesian Ministry of Defense held a running competition entitled 'Bela Negara Run 2018'.

The Director General of Defense Potential of the Ministry of Defense, Bondan Tiara Sofyan, said that the race would be attended by 2500 participants.

"So for Bela Negara Run we have closed enrollments registered in 2500 from all over Indonesia and for participants there are categories (distance) 5 km and 12 km. For participants divided into two categories, namely TNI-Polri and general categories," said Tiara at Kemenhan office, Jakarta Center, Friday (12/14/2018).

Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu, said Tiara, will open the event in front of the Ministry of Defense office at 06.00 WIB (19/12).

"Some cabinet ministers and ministries / institutions will also be invited, as well as organizations that work together to defend the country are also scheduled to attend," he added.

As for the selection of the race in celebrating the National Defense Day, said Tiara, there are state defense values ​​that can be taken, such as the value of discipline and hard work.

"Because if you don't have discipline, you don't want to excel and work hard later you can't finish so that those values ​​are a defense value of the country and a real manifestation that every Indonesian has optimism to finish and that will be a strength for this nation," he added .

Tiara added, the total prize in the event was IDR 135 million.

"This is the second (Run Martial Arts Competition). We carried out last year for the first time. The difference was last year and now there are 1500 participants more. The prize is more and there is a door prize. The total is Rp 135 million, the first prize is Rp 10 million," he said .

In addition, in the commemoration of the National Defense Day on December 19, there will also be state defense awards for 5 categories.

The first category for corporations, the second category for media, the third category for campus, fourth for seniors and fifth for millennial. These categories are all judged by anyone who consistently shows the country's defense.

"Regarding the general criteria as well as how they consistently realize their love for this country, it depends on their respective professions," concluded Bondan.
